Why did you choose to become an exchange student at IIMU?

I have chosen IIMU for my exchange semester, as it was recommended to me by my Indian friends in Germany. They knew about the excellent reputation of this Institute as well as the welcoming and engaging student culture. These factors were important to me as I made my decision to come to India. Apart from that, Udaipur city seemed to be one of the most beautiful cities in the country. So it was clear for me, that IIMU will be a great choice. And I have never regretted my decision!

Please tell us about your learning experience at IIMU? Did it help you to achieve your objectives?

I really enjoyed my learning experience at IIMU as I got the opportunity to attend classes with highly professional faculties who were very supportive and helped me to develop my personal and professional skills. Here I would like to especially point out two courses: Advanced Selling Skills and Management with Professor Gokul Kamath as well as Advanced Leadership Course with Professor Manab Bose.

What is the difference between IIMU school system and the one in your home country?

The main difference between IIMU and my home country’s university is campus life. In Germany, students don’t live together on campus. Hence, the overall atmosphere is different – somehow you come closer with people in a much faster way, e.g. during breakfast when everyone is very sleepy (especially me) or tea time, discussing classes and travel plans.

What is your best memory from attending school here?>

My best memory from attending school here is Garba night celebration when all participants wore traditional dresses and performed a traditional dance. Not only the exchange students were provided with the clothes for the event, but we were also taught how to dance and were perfectly integrated and welcomed by all the students during the festivity. Everyone was so attentive and no one laughed at us, even though our dance moves were far from perfection and probably quite embarrassing. All in all, it was a great feeling to be a part of such celebration together with IIMU community and I am really thankful for this experience!

What is your favourite place in Udaipur and why?

My favourite place in Udaipur is the Monsoon Palace. The panoramic view from its hilltop platform is simply breathtaking – you can see the whole city as well as beautiful surroundings and lakes. I hope, I will come back soon to enjoy it again!
